Political parties that do not provide the Public Services Agency (ASP) with all the information regarding the members of the party’s central executive bodies until the beginning of the electoral period, meaning until July 14, will not be able to participate in the elections. This warning comes from the Central Electoral Commission. The authority has urged political formations that intend to participate in the parliamentary elections on September 28 to comply with the deadlines provided by the legislation, as reported by IPN.
In accordance with recent legislative changes, political parties are obliged to provide the ASP with information regarding the numerical and nominal list of presidents, vice-presidents, and members of the central executive bodies of the formation. If changes occur in these lists, as well as in the status or program of the political party, they must be communicated to the ASP within 15 days.
Information regarding the registration or deregistration of political parties from the State Register of Legal Entities, as well as changes made to their statutes, are published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Moldova and on the ASP’s web page.
“We draw attention to the fact that in the process of examining the applications for the registration of political parties for participation in the parliamentary elections, the CEC will be guided by the official information made public or provided to the Commission by the Public Services Agency,” is mentioned in a press release of the electoral authority.
According to the calendar program approved by the CEC, the electoral period for the parliamentary elections on September 28 begins on July 14.
