The former leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova, Vladimir Plahotniuc, is not in Turkey, Greece and the United Arab Emirates, nor has he crossed the borders of any of the three countries. Their authorities announced Plahotniuc’s absence in their notifications to the authorities in Chisinau, and this was reported by Interior Minister Daniella Misail-Nichitin in an interview with Moldova Live.
“There have been several reports from some countries that Vladimir Plahotniuc is not on the territory of these countries, such as the United Arab Emirates, for example, which have denied that the person is on the territory of the country, as well as Turkey and Greece”, the minister said.
Daniella Misail-Nichitin clarified on the false Mexican identity of the former PDM leader: “The Mexican authorities have confirmed that there is no passport, but neither was he offered the citizenship of this state. Moreover, they confirmed that the passport was false”.
Vladimir Plahotniuc left Moldova in June 2019, when the PDM ceded power. In February this year, Interpol accepted a request from the Chisinau authorities to place him under international wanted for arrest and extradition. The diffusion is visible to all 196 member countries of the international police cooperation organization.
