The Speaker of Parliament, Igor Grosu, mocked the situation before the vote to invest the Alexandru Munteanu Government, after noting that only 88 MPs remained in the chamber, compared to the 100 registered at the beginning of the session.
“The third meeting and another loss,” commented Igor Grosu, expressing his hope that “the losses are recoverable,” IPN reports.
The Alexandru Munteanu government was sworn in on October 31, with the votes of 55 deputies from the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), after a session that lasted more than eight hours.
The prime minister-designate remained in the chamber throughout the debates, spending most of his time at the central podium, where he presented his government program and answered questions from parliamentarians.
One of the MPs who did not make it to the vote was Communist leader Vladimir Voronin, who was spotted at a performance at the National Opera.
