Nine city halls from the Rezina district have approved the initiation of the voluntary amalgamation process. Representatives of the administrations from the city of Rezina and eight other localities discussed the next stages of the process during a meeting. The nine city halls will benefit from financial incentives totaling 85 million lei, reports IPN.
The decisions regarding the voluntary amalgamation process were initiated by the city of Rezina and the localities of Lipceni, Horodiste, Papauti, Saharna Noua, Siircova, Solonceni, Țareuca, and Lalova.
The discussions were attended by the Secretary General of the Government, Alexei Buzu, who pointed out that the amount offered is comparable to the annual budget of the city of Rezina for the year 2026, estimated at approximately 90 million lei.
The authorities have simplified the amalgamation procedure, also offering financial incentives of 3,000 lei for each resident of the involved localities. The reform promises better accessibility to public services: over 600 services will be accessible through Unified Service Delivery Centers and the single window system. At the same time, each locality will have a representative of the mayor, to maintain direct contact with the citizens.
At present, at the national level, over 400 decisions to initiate the voluntary amalgamation process have been approved.
