The Republic of Moldova shone on the stage of the “Concours mondial de Bruxelles”, held this year in Armenia, where Moldovan wines won 66 medals. This is the best performance in the category of countries that presented over 100 wines in the competition, reports IPN.
Moldova’s record stands at seven Grand Gold medals, 32 Gold medals, and 27 Silver medals. The result was achieved after evaluating 126 wines.
The 33rd edition of the prestigious competition took place in Yerevan, Armenia, where nearly 7,700 wines from 51 countries were analyzed by an international jury. In total, over 320 oenologists from 56 states participated in the evaluation of the samples.
The National Office of Vine and Wine mentions that the result confirms the competitiveness of Moldovan wines on the international market and reflects the emphasis placed by producers on quality and authenticity. “Concours mondial de Bruxelles” was launched in 1994 and annually gathers thousands of wines from around the world, evaluated in blind tastings conducted by independent experts.
