Moldovan citizens, warned about job scams in Finland

Citizens of the Republic of Moldova are warned about scams involving intermediaries promising jobs in Finland and visa assistance. The Finnish Embassy in Bucharest advises people not to pay money and not to be deceived, reports IPN.

The diplomatic mission clarifies that Moldovan citizens frequently contact the embassy, complaining that they have been deceived by individuals promising them jobs, most often at a beer factory. The fraudsters demanded money for intermediary services and for obtaining the necessary documents.

According to the embassy, individuals wishing to work legally in Finland must have a contract signed directly with the employer. The application for the residence permit is submitted online, on the EnterFinland platform, along with the necessary documents and the official processing fee.

The fee for reviewing the file varies between 380 and 740 euros, depending on the type of job. The procedure does not involve intermediaries nor the payment of commissions to third parties.

At the same time, the embassy representatives reiterate that citizens of the Republic of Moldova who hold a biometric passport do not need a visa for tourist trips to Finland.
