Moldova is interested in Greece’s experience in protecting and enhancing cultural heritage, which it considers a model to follow. The statement was made by President Maia Sandu, during the meeting with the Greek Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, who is visiting Chisinau, reports IPN.
The head of state emphasized the role of culture in strengthening the resilience of societies, especially in a regional context marked by multiple challenges. According to her, culture contributes to the protection of national values and social cohesion, as stated in a press release from the Presidency.
Maia Sandu highlighted that the Hellenic Republic remains an important partner for Moldova, both in the process of joining the European Union and in other areas of bilateral cooperation.
The Ministries of Culture from both states signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of conservation and restoration of cultural heritage on Monday, March 16. The document provides for exchanges of expertise, training programs for specialists, and the development of joint projects in the field.
