Artificial intelligence could boost tourism in the Republic of Moldova. Participants at the Moldova Tourism Forum 2026 reached this conclusion, noting that the tourism sector is constantly evolving and has not yet reached its full potential, reports IPN.

According to tourism development consultant Jack Delf, Moldova should create a database of all the country’s tourist destinations. “Moldova needs to become the first AI-native destination by creating a unified database that includes all tourism offerings in the country and by developing its own AI-controlled travel agents to handle customer relations and create travel itineraries available on a dedicated Moldovan tourism website”, stated Jack Delf.

UNDP representative Daniela Gasparicova also attended the event, speaking about tourism sustainability. “We have worked together in over 80 communities across Moldova to make tourism offerings not only accessible but—most importantly for the UNDP—sustainable; this will breathe life into communities and generate profit for them”, Gasparicova affirmed.

Claudiu Nasui, the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, noted that he would always be a supporter of tourism in the Republic of Moldova.

The Moldova Tourism Forum was organized by the National Tourism Office of Moldova, with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization. The Republic of Moldova recorded a 25% increase in the number of foreign tourists in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period of the previous year—the highest growth rate in Europe. These figures appear in the latest World Tourism Barometer published by the World Tourism Organization.
