Maia Sandu: In the coming period, lies will be pouring from the Kremlin’s trumpets

Moldova’s President Maia Sandu anticipates the intensification of disinformation campaigns orchestrated by the Kremlin aimed at destabilizing the situation in the country. The head of state reaffirms her firm commitment to peace and the European path, emphasizing that only in the European Union can Moldova find long-term security and stability, IPN reports.

“The laboratories for inventing aberrations have been turned up to maximum speed. In the coming period, lies will be flowing from the Kremlin’s trumpets, just to seize Moldova and put it under the control of foreign interests. More recently, those who kill children by intentionally throwing bombs over apartment blocks want to panic Moldovans as if I would want war or violate the country’s neutrality,” Maia Sandu wrote on Facebook.

The President says that “peace is a choice” and “a European present and future means that Moldovans have chosen and continue to choose peace for our people”.

“Moldovans have given me the confidence to keep the peace and to bring Moldova into the EU together. We have a difficult period ahead, but we will not fall into the trap of hatred and division set in foreign laboratories. We are moving in the right direction,” the head of state added.

Users from several countries reported connection issues with Facebook on Sunday. The number of reports rapidly increased during the morning, suggesting a possible widespread malfunction, according to the Downdetector platform, quoted by IPN.

According to reports in the international press, users are experiencing difficulties with authentication, loading the news feed, and using some features of the social network. It is not yet clear whether other services of the Meta company are also affected.

In Moldova, there are issues with browser connectivity, but access through the application is possible.
