Over 25 local initiatives developed by young people were awarded at the end of the Civic LAB 2.0 program. Within this framework, projects implemented in over 17 localities in Moldova were supported. The young people identified problems in their communities and proposed concrete solutions, reports IPN.

The closing event took place on Wednesday and brought together participants from all over the country. The activity also marked the end of the campaign “Youth get involved, the community develops”.

According to the National Youth Agency (ANT), the projects targeted various fields, from media and digital education, to recycling campaigns and cultural activities. In some localities, recreational spaces were arranged for students. In Drochia, a team created the interactive game “Island of Truth”.

The head of the Youth and Sports Policy Department within the Ministry of Education and Research, Marcel Marin, emphasized the importance of collaboration between young people and the community, noting that such initiatives contribute to the strengthening of society.

The organizers announced that they will continue to support informal youth groups. The ANT Director, Alex Petrov, highlighted the role of these initiatives in local development. International partners also welcomed the program’s results. The program analyst at UNFPA Moldova, Olga Gordila-Bobeico, noted the long-term impact of youth civic engagement.

Civic LAB 2.0 is part of the project “Young Catalysts: strengthening the democratic core of the Republic of Moldova”, implemented with the support of the Government of the United Kingdom, UNFPA and MEC.
