The president of the Liberal Party’s branch on the left bank of the Dniester, Vladimir Meleca, who is included on the PL’s parliamentary lists, has been detained. The party is calling for the intervention of the responsible authorities for Meleca’s release, reports IPN.
Contacted by IPN, Mariana Sarî, senior advisor at the Bureau for Reintegration, stated that the institution has not received an official notification regarding this case. However, she mentioned that, once a notification is registered, the BPR will act according to legal procedures and will intervene.
The Liberal Party specifies that Vladimir Meleca was detained at 6:00 in the morning by four individuals, who presented themselves as employees of the so-called Ministry of State Security from Tiraspol. The four allegedly conducted a search, confiscating personal belongings, the phone, the computer, and party materials. At the same time, video footage from around the residence of the PL representative was reportedly seized.
