The leader of the Socialist Party, Igor Dodon, maintains that, although the political formation he leads has no open conflicts, there are different opinions within, and some members would like to remove him from the head of the party, reports IPN.
“There are some who hope that I will leave, to take over the leadership. There are some who hope that I will be criminally charged. I believe there is no chance, but there are some who hope for this. We have a congress in 2-3 years. It’s clear, there is no chance,” said Igor Dodon during a televised broadcast.
According to the socialist leader, there are disagreements and different opinions regarding EU integration as well. Some of his colleagues strongly believe that Moldova must become European, but he is skeptical about this subject.
“We do not argue within the party, but, of course, there are different opinions. There are some who believe we should be 100% pro-European. I do not agree with such a level. If we want to buy gas from Russia, we will buy gas from Russia,” declared the leader of the PSRM.
