The heavy snowfall on Thursday afternoon created difficult traffic conditions on the national roads, especially in the north of the country, where several cars skidded. The police recommend all traffic participants to exercise maximum caution, reports IPN.
The General Inspectorate of Police reports that traffic is difficult on route R-7, in the Rascani district, Parjota village, as well as in the south of the country. On route M-3, Cahul district, Slobozia Mare locality, due to the ice formed on the roadway, six large tonnage vehicles cannot continue their journey.
At the same time, the City Hall of Chisinau warns that, due to unfavorable conditions, as well as sleet, there is a risk of ice forming on roads and sidewalks. Business entities and property managers are called upon to intervene in combating the ice on the territories they administer.
The authorities assure that the municipal services, along with the prices, continuously monitor and intervene on the ground, so that the situation is under control. In case of problematic situations arising in the context of weather conditions, city residents are asked to call the municipal central dispatch at the phone numbers (022) 22-22-67, (022) 22-26-04 or the unique emergency number 112.
The yellow code for ice, sleet, and significant precipitation, issued on January 7, remains valid until January 9, 2:00 PM.
