The grant agreement for technical assistance within the “Urban Infrastructure Development” project was signed by the Mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban. The first tranche, of 1.5 million euros, will be used for support in the implementation and engineering supervision of the rehabilitation works on Mircea cel Batran, Industriala and Mesager streets, reports IPN.
“Thus, we ensure professional project management and strict monitoring of execution quality, in accordance with international standards,” mentioned Ion Ceban.
The municipal authorities had previously announced that the rehabilitation and expansion works on Mircea cel Batran Boulevard up to Bucovinei Street and the rehabilitation of Industriala and Mesager streets in the capital are set to begin in the second half of the year.
The streets will be auctioned separately, and the works will be carried out in stages, each lot having a completion period of 24 months from the signing of the contracts. The rehabilitation will include the repair of the road surface and the complete modernization of the urban infrastructure: utility networks, public lighting, public transport lanes, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, intelligent traffic lights, and green spaces.
