Director Veaceslav Madan, former Minister of Culture, will be laid to rest on Friday. The funeral and mourning rally will take place between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, at the “A.P. Chekhov” Russian State Drama Theatre, reports IPN.
The City Hall of Chisinau specifies that, subsequently, between 12:20 PM and 01:00 PM, the funeral procession will move towards the Central Cemetery in Chisinau, on Armeneasca Street. In this context, the Chisinau City Hall announces the imposition of temporary traffic restrictions in the city center, between 09:00 AM and 01:00 PM, with redirection on the adjacent streets.
For the movement of the funeral procession, traffic will be suspended on the route Vlaicu Parcalab Street – Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Boulevard – Vasile Alecsandri Street – Mihail Kogalniceanu Street – Bulgara Street – Alexei Mateevici Street.
At the same time, between the hours of 09:00 AM and 12:20 PM, ahe necessary space for the temporary parking of coaches and cars intended for the transportation of participants to the funeral ceremony will be provided on the section between Columna and Mitropolit Varlaam streets.
Veaceslav Madan passed away on September 29, at the age of 77. From 2002 to 2006, he served as the Minister of Culture, and later became the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Bulgaria. In 1998, he was awarded the title of Meritorious Man in Arts of the Republic of Moldova.
