The police announced the withdrawal from traffic of a deputy of the People’s Assembly (AP) from Gagauzia, who had previously been deprived of his license after being detected in a state of intoxication behind the wheel. The service car he was driving was lifted and taken to a special parking lot, reports IPN.
“Employees of the Police Directorate from the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia stopped a Skoda car for checks. The police established that the man behind the wheel had been deprived of the right to drive vehicles in December, after he was found drunk driving. He holds the position of deputy in the People’s Assembly of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia,” the General Inspectorate of Police specified on Saturday.
Law enforcement officials have ordered an investigation, and the service car has been placed in the special parking lot until all circumstances are clarified.
“The police reiterate that the law is equal for all, and compliance with imposed restrictions is mandatory, regardless of the position held,” is further stated in the IGP’s statement.
