An inmate from Taraclia’s Penitentiary No. 1 escaped on Monday evening after going out to work. The National Administration of Penitentiaries explained that the man was allowed to travel with an electronic bracelet to work, he left the penitentiary, but did not show up at his place of work in the city of Taraclia.” The ANP has declared a state of alert and started a search, IPN reports.
The man, sentenced in 2022 to six years in prison for burglary, is 188-190 cm tall, with brown hair, medium build, round face, no beard. At the time of his disappearance, the man was wearing a gray jacket with black inserts and blue pants, tapered at the cuffs.
“Necessary actions are being taken to search for the convict. Filters have been set up in the localities where there are indications that the prisoner might be”, the ANP said.
