Agriculture subsidization fund will be supplemented with 600m lei, Premier

The agriculture subsidization fund is to be supplemented with 600 million lei and the issue will be examined when the state budget is subject to rectification, Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced as a result of discussions with farmers from Fălești district, where he made his first field trip as Premier, IPN reports.

“It is not enough. We will work further to identify more resources for allocating them for the purpose,” stated the official. According to him, the farmers evidently want more money for being able to work. “Furthermore, the farmers have particular demands related to regulations, to the new infrastructure for ensuring quality in the food sector, etc.” noted Dorin Recean.

In Fălești, there were identified a number of problems and constraints faced by the local public authorities, regarding regulation as well. “This is apart from the fact that we further need to identify financial resources to increase financing for such successful projects as the “European Village,” stated the official.

The Premier announced that he will pay field trips each week and many of them will not be announced. “There will be many surprise visits as we want to make sure that the people do not get ready beforehand because the Prime Minister is coming, so that the questions could be answered. My objective is not to control someone. My goal is to identify the problems and solutions to them. My experience shows that when the people are taken by surprise, they are more one and the problems are more evident,” said Dorin Recean.

Asked by journalists about the resignations at the Supreme Court of Justice, the Premier said that the justice sector reform is the most difficult one, but is fundamental for the rule of law. “I assure you that nothing will stop this reform from continuing. If we determine that this is sabotage, we will apply other instruments so that we have functional self-governing bodies that will further clean the system and we ultimately have a fair justice system,” noted the official.

The former president of the Constitutional Court, Alexandru Tanase, stated that the changes regarding the competences of the Gagauz autonomy in organizing elections do not represent an infringement on its status. “Gagauzia does not have enemies in Moldova,” Tănase declared in the show “Teritoria Svobodi” with Lilia Burakovski, reports IPN.

Alexandru Tanase also stated that Comrat is being “brazenly manipulated”. “I am very sorry that, after 30 years, other political parties are not normally represented there, and pro-Moscow oriented politicians control the situation in the autonomy”, clarified the former president of the Constitutional Court.

In his opinion, this is a backlog of Chisinau, for which the country will pay a high price due to the ignorance of the situation in the region.

He mentioned that, most likely, legislative changes will be made, according to which Chisinau will designate the electoral bodies itself that will organize the elections in Gagauzia – on the date set by the Popular Assembly.

“Gagauzia has no enemy in the Republic of Moldova. There is no politician – not even the most marginal – who would say that autonomy should be abolished or that certain competencies should be reduced,” concluded the former president of the Constitutional Court.
