The president of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu, who was invested Prime Minister last Saturday, said everyone should understand that the process of changing the power is irreversible. “Yes, they can try and incite violence, but this would be very serious and the consequences for them would be very grave,” stated Maia Sandu. “For anyone who can read the law, it is absolutely clear that the Constitutionals Court’s decisions are abusive and illegal. They should not image that everyone will forget and ignore things and will have discussions with the PDM.”

“No one sticks to posts. We are all ready to vacate our seats, but the administration should be transferred to a legitimate Government,” stated acting Prime Minister Pavel Filip, who is the first vice president of the Democratic Party of Moldova. Asked if the Democratic Party exerts pressure on the Constitutional Court judges, Pavel Filip said he does not know about the PDM’s control over the CC and does not believe that these judges allow to be influenced somehow. “These judges are irremovable and therefore cannot be influenced,” he stated.

The Embassy of Moldova in Israel will be transferred from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The Filip Government also approved the signing of the agreement on the sale of a building lot to the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau. Prime Minister Pavel Filip said that given the political instability in the country, they have to immediately adopt these decisions that some of the parties tried to block.

Representatives of a number of NGOs are calling on the leaders of all state institutions to submit to the new Government, while condemning “the contempt and lack of morals shown by the Democratic Party”.

“We fully support the decisions taken by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, including the formation of the government coalition led by Maia Sandu with a pro-European agenda on the basis of a mutual commitment to reforms and to the core principles enshrined in the EU Association Agreement,” runs a statement issued by the EPP Group in the European Parliament, which is the largest one.

The new minister of foreign affairs and European integration in the Sandu Government Nicu Popescu said he is a not a political minister and will work as a minister to represent the entire state. He assured the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the new Government promote Moldova’s European integration. He noted he receives dozens of messages from people from inside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who say they are waiting for the moment when they could resume work. “Our diplomats should go on delegations and should sign and negotiate agreements. No one accepts them now as the Government that does not concede the state institutions is not recognized,” stated the minister.

Six employees of the Sixth Division of the National Investigation Inspectorate were suspended from posts for stating their support for the Government led by Maia Sandu. Being at the scene, Andrei Năstase, minister of the interior in the Sandu Government, said the police officers who do not obey the regime are under attack. “I demand access to this institution. As an MP, I should have access to this  institution,” stated Andrei Năstase, who was not allowed to go in.

Prime Minister Maia Sandu bade the chief of the National Investigation Inspectorate Alexandru Pînzari and all those who, according to her, implement serious illegal orders to stop all actions aimed at destabilizing public order and intimidating those who oppose an illegal regime. “If they hide behind Constitutional Court decisions, I want to warn them that the country’s Constitution is above everything. Those Constitutional Court decisions cannot run counter to the Constitution. What the so-called Constitutional Court did is namely violation of the Constitution’s provisions.”.

A group of teachers of the Technical University of Moldova signed a statement by which they state their support for the Government led by Maia Sandu. In a news conference given together with Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei, minister of education, culture and research in the Sandu Government, the teachers called on society to support the new executive as this is the only one capable to free the state from the captivity of one party. Ilie Manoli stated the teachers’ statement is supported by dozens of messages of students of the University. “We call on everyone to show determination and courage and to support the Government led by Maia Sandu that brought confidence and hope,” said the teacher.

According to Alexandru Slusari, in the first meeting of the commission of inquiry into the bank fraud the members were assigned tasks and all the competent authorities are to be informed about the commission’s work. “All the members agreed that the main goal of the commission is to elucidate state institutions’ actions and inaction starting with 2010 until present, not selectively, serval months or a year, but the whole period,” stated the MP. “The documents will be analyzed next week and a number of persons will start to be questioned afterward. It is my duty to compile the exhaustive list of these persons – former state functionaries, former and current MPs. I hope that next week we will furnish more important and interesting information,” he noted.

The MPs on June 12 created 11 commissions that consist of five to eleven members each. The legal commission for appointments and immunities will be managed by the MP of the group of the PAS Bloc ACUM Sergiu Litvinenko, the commission on economy, budget and finance by MP of the group of ACUM Platform DA Igor Munteanu, the commission on national security, defense and public order by MP of the group of ACUM Platform DA Kiril Moțpan, while the commission on foreign affairs and European integration by the MP of the group of ACUM Platform DA Iurie Reniță.

The new make-up of Parliament’s delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) was approved. The delegation is headed by Andrei Năstase (ACUM/DA), and its members include Vlad Batrîncea (PSRM), and Doina Gherman (ACUM/PAS). Another member’s post has been reserved for the Democratic Party.
