A group of teachers of the Technical University of Moldova signed a statement by which they state their support for the Government led by Maia Sandu. In a news conference given together with Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei, minister of education, culture and research in the Sandu Government, the teachers called on society to support the new executive as this is the only one capable to free the state from the captivity of one party, IPN reports.

Teacher Sergiu Zaporojann said everyone should now leave indifference aside and show responsibility. The moment of truth and changes in society came and forces should be combined for succeeding.

Teacher Valeriu Dulgheru spoke about the reasons for which the teachers signed the statement. He said they wanted to this way give a signal to other intellectuals in Moldova so that they support the Sandu Government that is the only one that can de-oligarchize the country. “In the created situation, the Government needs the people’s support,” stated Valeriu Dulgheru.

For his part, Ilie Manoli stated the teachers’ statement is supported by dozens of messages of students of the University. “We call on everyone to show determination and courage and to support the Government led by Maia Sandu that brought confidence and hope,” said the teacher.

Liliana Niculaescu-Onofrei addressed all the people working in the fields of education, culture, research, youth and sport, asking them not to remain indifferent as this can lead to the destruction of society. She said these people are those who can serve as an example through their courage.
