Maia Sandu: Everyone should understand that the process of changing power is irreversible

The president of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu, who was invested Prime Minister last Saturday, said everyone should understand that the process of changing the power is irreversible. “Yes, they can try and incite violence, but this would be very serious and the consequences for them would be very grave,” Maia Sandu was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Politics of Natalia Morari” on TV8 channel.

“For anyone who can read the law, it is absolutely clear that the Constitutionals Court’s decisions are abusive and illegal. They should not image that everyone will forget and ignore things and will have discussions with the PDM. On the one hand, a number of foreign countries recognized our government. On the other hand, there is an absolutely ridiculous and absurd position that points to the Democratic Party’s despair,” stated Maia Sandu.

According to her, the Venice Commission’s opinion about the judgements passed by the Constitutional Court of Moldova that will be made public on June 21 will come as confirmation for those who didn’t read the legislation or didn’t analyze the situation.

The PAS president does not rule out the possibility that the leader of the PDM Vladimir Plahotniuc will be subject to international sanctions if he refuses to concede the power. He does not yet have an alternative and should leave and concede the power peacefully.

The Government led by Maia Sandu was invested by the new legislature on June 8. The Government headed by Pavel Filip refuses to leave, making reference to the Constitutionals Court’s decision to dissolve Parliament formed as a result of the February 24, 2029 elections.
