Pavel Filip: Administration should be transferred to a legitimate Government

“No one sticks to posts. We are all ready to vacate our seats, but the administration should be transferred to a legitimate Government,” stated acting Prime Minister Pavel Filip, who is the first vice president of the Democratic Party of Moldova. In the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, he said there are the Constitutional Court’s judgements that are law for him and these say the new Government and new Parliament are not legitimate as these were formed after the CC ruled that the legislative body is illegitimate. According to him, the political crisis or stalemate resides in this, IPN reports.

“Leaving our posts today would mean desertion and who can now guarantee that we will not be held countable for this?” asked Pavel Filip. “For example, something happens today in the street. Who from the Ministry of the Interior will answer, Andrei Năstase or Alexandru Jizdan? That’s why I think obstinacy should be left aside and negotiations should be held. I’m sure a solution can be found this way.”

Asked if the Democratic Party exerts pressure on the Constitutional Court judges, Pavel Filip said he does not know about the PDM’s control over the CC and does not believe that these judges allow to be influenced somehow. “These judges are irremovable and therefore cannot be influenced,” he stated.
