The United Nations Development Program in partnership with the Polish Foreign Ministry launched on Monday the BOOST Green Futures Challenge program, a call for Moldovan and Ukrainian startups to select startups to develop green, digital and circular solutions, IPN reports.
The BOOST program is aimed at legally registered startups and SMEs with a working prototype or a minimum viable product. Joint applications between Moldovan and Ukrainian startups are encouraged.
The initiators of the program aim to support local innovators in the green and digital transition, to identify the development and multiplication of impactful solutions, which promote including sustainable infrastructure, clean and circular energy.
„By investing in local ideas, we are helping to scale solutions that provide reliable energy, reduce environmental impacts, support sustainable urban development, and facilitate access to green solutions and financing for businesses and communities”, said Ievgen Kylymnyk, Regional Project Manager, UNDP Europe and Central Asia.
Over the course of ten weeks, participants will refine their business models, strengthen their companies’ sustainability strategies and enhance their skills to attract investment. The program will conclude with a Demo Day in September, when participants will present their solutions to a panel of expert judges and compete for prizes.
Applications are submitted in two stages. Those interested are invited to submit a request for expression of interest by May 8.
For more information about the program and the application process, applicants canregister for the webinar and visit the program website.
Up to 40 startups, 20 from each country, will be selected to participate in the program. It includes specialized training, personalized mentoring, funding opportunities and international visibility.
