Ukrainian war veterans could benefit from treatment and physical and psychological rehabilitation in medical institutions in Moldova. An initiative in this regard was discussed by the Ukrainian ambassador to Chisinau, Paun Rohovei, with the Minister of Health, Alexandru Gasnas, reports IPN.
According to the Ukrainian diplomatic mission, a potential joint project could cover postoperative recovery, prosthetics and orthotics, as well as the treatment of injuries caused by explosions and post-traumatic conditions.
Among other topics discussed were the creation of logistical hubs for medicines and medical devices, the expansion of pharmaceutical collaboration, as well as the continuation and expansion of recovery and psychological rehabilitation programs for children from Ukrainian regions near the front or affected by war. In this context, the Ukrainian embassy mentioned the positive experience of the “Speranta” camp in the Sangerei district, where over 250 children from various Ukrainian regions, including Lugansk and Odessa, spent their holiday in August.
At the same time, the authorities from Chisinau have welcomed the initiative of a training program in cardio surgery, as well as the organization of internships for Moldovan specialists, involving Ukrainian experts. The Ukrainian ambassador, in turn, requested support for hospitals affected by Russian attacks, through the transfer of equipment, medicines and specialized transport.
