Traffic restrictions on Calea Iesilor on Saturday and Sunday

Road traffic on three lanes of Calea Iesilor street in Chisinau, in the direction of Balcani road, will be stopped from July 12-13, between 03:00-17:30. The restrictions concern the area between Mesager Street and 75 Calea Iesilor Street and are imposed in the context of the “Triathlon Festival” event.

For the duration of the restrictions, traffic will be redirected to the remaining three lanes, which will be used as two-way traffic. During the Triathlon Festival, traffic will also be suspended on Ghidighici Street at the same time.

On Sunday, there will be new traffic restrictions due to the Velo Road sports event. Participants in the competition, who will be on bicycles and scooters, will use a single lane of traffic on a large part of the city center and the western part of the city, including Stefan cel Mare, Dacia and Constantin Negruzzi boulevards, as well as several adjacent streets, ending in the “Alunelul” Park, in the amphitheater area.



Meteorologists have issued a yellow heatwave warning for this weekend. In most parts of the country, the maximum temperatures will reach +34 degrees Celsius, reports IPN.

The warning is valid for the center, south, and east of the country. Several districts in the north are also under the yellow code. The northernmost districts of the country such as Briceni, Ocnita, Edinet, Drochia, Soroca, Glodeni, Rascani, and Donduseni – are not affected by the warning.

According to the Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, the warning can be updated depending on the evolution of weather phenomena.

During periods of heatwave, authorities recommend people to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours, to consume enough fluids, and to pay increased attention to children, the elderly, and people with chronic conditions.
