The trolleybus traffic in the capital’s center, disrupted by a network malfunction

The trolleybus traffic in the capital’s center was disrupted by a malfunction in the contact network, which occurred at the intersection of Stefan cel Mare Boulevard with Ismail Street. Until the situation was resolved, the routes of several lines were altered, reports IPN.

According to the Chisinau Electric Transport Directorate, this refers to trolleybus routes no. 1, 4, 5, 8, and 22, which run on Bucuresti Street. Route no. 2 has been redirected to the route on Gheorghe Asachi, Ismail, and Bucuresti streets, continuing towards the Viaduct, after which it returns to its usual itinerary.

At the same time, trolleybus 20, towards the Telecentru district, runs on Ciuflea, Bucharest, Metropolitan Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni and Vasile Alecsandri streets.

RTEC representatives have announced that intervention teams are on site and are working to resolve the issue. For additional information, passengers can call the hotline at the number 022 204 205.



Meteorologists have issued a yellow heatwave warning for this weekend. In most parts of the country, the maximum temperatures will reach +34 degrees Celsius, reports IPN.

The warning is valid for the center, south, and east of the country. Several districts in the north are also under the yellow code. The northernmost districts of the country such as Briceni, Ocnita, Edinet, Drochia, Soroca, Glodeni, Rascani, and Donduseni – are not affected by the warning.

According to the Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, the warning can be updated depending on the evolution of weather phenomena.

During periods of heatwave, authorities recommend people to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours, to consume enough fluids, and to pay increased attention to children, the elderly, and people with chronic conditions.
