As of July 1, 3 297 596 voters are registered in the State Register of Voters. Out of the total number, 2 754 616 are citizens with the right to vote assigned to second-level administrative-territorial units, reports IPN.
According to the Central Electoral Commission, the difference between the total number of voters and the number assigned to second-level administrative-territorial units includes individuals who hold citizenship of the Republic of Moldova, but do not have a registered domicile or residence.
This figure includes individuals who have legally emigrated abroad – 266 463 people, and citizens with the right to vote who have their residence registered in the administrative-territorial units on the left bank of the Nistru, temporarily outside the sovereign control of the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova – 276,517 people.
The next elections in the Republic of Moldova will take place on September 28, when the new Parliament of the country will be elected.
