Moldovan journalist Vladimir Soloviov was sentenced in absentia to three years in prison in the Russian Federation. The sentence was handed down by a court in Moscow, which determined that he allegedly collaborated with the Carnegie Foundation – an organization banned in Russia, reports IPN.
Vladimir Soloviov regularly published articles regarding the situation in the Transnistrian region on the online platform of the organization, named Carnegie Politika.
At the same time, the Russian court also imposed on Soloviov a ban on conducting activities related to the administration of websites for a similar period of three years.
Before the launch of the large-scale Russian invasion in Ukraine, Vladimir Soloviov lived in Russia, and in February 2022 he left the country.
