The Family March, organized by the Socialist Party, took place on Saturday in the center of Chisinau. Participants walked the streets of the capital carrying flags and placards with messages supporting the family, chanting slogans such as “Moldova for a traditional family” and “Mom, dad, me – a traditional family”. According to the organizers, the action aims to promote and protect the institution of the traditional family, the Orthodox faith, and cultural identity, reports IPN.
The march concluded with a rally in the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral, where representatives of the Socialist Party, deputies, local elected officials, and other event participants spoke.
The leader of the PSRM, Igor Dodon, stated that about 3,500 people participated in the march. He also mentioned that family and faith are fundamental values for society and urged their preservation. “Our homeland, Moldova, without family and faith, has no chance,” he said.
Similar messages were also conveyed by socialist deputies Vlad Batrancea and Grigorii Uzun, who spoke about the role of the family and traditions in the development of the state. They mentioned that Moldova is an Orthodox country, where the traditional family and future generations must be respected and protected.
The event was also attended by families from various locations across the country. The speakers advocated for the respect of family values and the strengthening of social cohesion.
