The specialists from the Technical-Explosive Division of the Police have deactivated the combat part of the drone found in a forest near the village of Geamana, Anenii Noi district. According to the General Inspectorate of Police, the intervention eliminated the risk of an uncontrolled explosion, reports IPN.

Following the investigation, law enforcement determined that the unmanned aircraft hit a tree at an approximate height of 13 meters. The impact site is located in a forest on the outskirts of Geamana, about 100 meters from the road. Several fragments of the drone were identified on the ground.

Law enforcement officials specify that investigations continue, with specialized expertise to be arranged to establish all circumstances.

The incident took place on Saturday evening, around 10:20 PM. The police were alerted by locals about the presence of a possible low-flying drone, followed by an explosion. The Ministry of Defense stated that the incident occurred in the context of massive attacks by the Russian Federation on Ukraine, and no casualties were reported. At the same time, the Ministry mentioned that the aerial surveillance systems did not register any unauthorized flights over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova during that period.
