The Ministry of Energy proposes the creation of Acceleration Zones for renewable energy projects, that is, regions where procedures will be simplified and projects will benefit from public utility status. The measure is part of the proposed changes to the Law on the Promotion of the Use of Energy from Renewable Sources, reports IPN.
At the same time, it is proposed to create the Digital Single Window, which will allow potential investors to submit all necessary documents in one place, and also to track the real-time progress of their files.
In parallel, the legislation will provide clear and mandatory deadlines for authorization, which will significantly reduce the implementation time of projects. In some cases, such as the installation of photovoltaic panels for self-consumption or the modernization of existing capacities, these deadlines will be just a few months or even weeks.
The legislative changes were discussed with representatives of public authorities, the business environment, potential investors in renewable energy projects, and profile associations. The Ministry of Energy specifies that the proposals aim to align the Republic of Moldova with European standards and respond to the recommendations of the Energy Community.
