Students from Chisinau return to school on Thursday, after Wednesday’s lessons were held online. The announcement was made by the mayor of the capital, Ion Ceban, reports IPN.

“The decisions we make in our actions are based on the analysis of the on-the-ground situation, on weather forecasts, on the recommendations of central authorities, and on consultations in various fields,” declared the mayor.

According to him, throughout Wednesday, there was continuous intervention with all available resources, and the work will continue until late.

“Therefore, I announce that tomorrow studies will resume with physical presence in Chisinau,” emphasized the mayor.

The orange snowfall warning for the southern part of the country and the yellow one for the central region are valid until Wednesday evening, at 08:00PM. Meteorologists have announced that the snowfall will continue into Thursday night, but it will be light, only moderately isolated.



Meteorologists have issued a yellow heatwave warning for this weekend. In most parts of the country, the maximum temperatures will reach +34 degrees Celsius, reports IPN.

The warning is valid for the center, south, and east of the country. Several districts in the north are also under the yellow code. The northernmost districts of the country such as Briceni, Ocnita, Edinet, Drochia, Soroca, Glodeni, Rascani, and Donduseni – are not affected by the warning.

According to the Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, the warning can be updated depending on the evolution of weather phenomena.

During periods of heatwave, authorities recommend people to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours, to consume enough fluids, and to pay increased attention to children, the elderly, and people with chronic conditions.
