Voters who will go to the polls on Sunday will receive stickers with the message: “I voted”. The Central Election Commission resumes this initiative, which was also applied in the previous elections, as a gesture of Democratic mobilization and involvement, IPN reports.

“The action is meant to turn the moment of voting into a memorable experience, to strengthen the sense of belonging and civic pride for all citizens who exercise their constitutional right to vote,” the electoral authority said.

For young people who are going to vote for the first time, stickers for the phone are prepared.

Children who accompany their parents or grandparents to polling stations will also receive stickers with the message: “future voter”. “They have the role of transmitting, from an early age, the idea that involvement in the democratic process is a responsible gesture,” the CEC said.

The Central Electoral Commission underlines that”voting is not only a constitutional right, but also a fundamental civic responsibility, through which every citizen expresses his will and actively contributes to the consolidation of democracy”.

In the elections of September 28, the 101 deputies of the new parliament of the Republic of Moldova, the XII Legislature, are elected for a four-year term.

Meteorologists have issued a yellow heatwave warning for this weekend. In most parts of the country, the maximum temperatures will reach +34 degrees Celsius, reports IPN.

The warning is valid for the center, south, and east of the country. Several districts in the north are also under the yellow code. The northernmost districts of the country such as Briceni, Ocnita, Edinet, Drochia, Soroca, Glodeni, Rascani, and Donduseni – are not affected by the warning.

According to the Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, the warning can be updated depending on the evolution of weather phenomena.

During periods of heatwave, authorities recommend people to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours, to consume enough fluids, and to pay increased attention to children, the elderly, and people with chronic conditions.
