Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu sent a message of thanks after the vote of confidence in the Government in Parliament. “I would like to thank the members of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova for their support for the government program and for the trust they have placed in our team. It is a great honor for me to be able to serve my country,” said the Prime Minister.

According to him, the new government team will focus on economic growth and continuing the strategic direction of Moldova’s accession to the European Union – “a goal supported by the majority of citizens,” Alexandru Munteanu stressed.

“We want this process to bring tangible benefits to people: investments, well-paid jobs, modern public services, and an efficient administration that is close to citizens,” said the prime minister, urging all stakeholders to join forces for “the good, prosperity, and European path of the Republic of Moldova.”

The Alexandru Munteanu government was sworn in on October 31, with the votes of 55 deputies from the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), after a session that lasted more than eight hours. The opposition criticized the government’s program, calling the new executive a “sacrificial lamb.”

The members of the new Cabinet will be sworn in on Saturday, November 1, IPN reports.

Meteorologists have issued a yellow heatwave warning for this weekend. In most parts of the country, the maximum temperatures will reach +34 degrees Celsius, reports IPN.

The warning is valid for the center, south, and east of the country. Several districts in the north are also under the yellow code. The northernmost districts of the country such as Briceni, Ocnita, Edinet, Drochia, Soroca, Glodeni, Rascani, and Donduseni – are not affected by the warning.

According to the Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, the warning can be updated depending on the evolution of weather phenomena.

During periods of heatwave, authorities recommend people to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours, to consume enough fluids, and to pay increased attention to children, the elderly, and people with chronic conditions.
