The elevators in two residential buildings in the Ciocana sector of the capital have been renovated. The works included the repair and replacement of the main elements of the cabins, the updating of the control and call systems, as well as the renewal of the access components, reports IPN.

The Chisinau City Hall specifies that the works were managed by the General Directorate of Housing and Community Services. The intervention targeted the residential blocks on Igor Vieru Street, 2/1 and 4, and are part of the municipal program for elevator modernization. The municipality emphasizes that the modernization of elevators contributes to the increase of safety and comfort for the tenants and to the improvement of conditions in the residential blocks.

Since the beginning of the year, 137 elevators have been rehabilitated, and by the end of the program, approximately 270 elevator cabins are expected to be rehabilitated. Previously, within the same program, another 290 lifts in apartment buildings were rehabilitated.
