Over 500 million lei, granted to farmers through the FCA program

Over 580 micro and small enterprises in the agricultural sector received funding exceeding half a billion lei during the period from March 2025 to May 2026. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the funds were granted through the “Agricultural Lending Facility” program, reports IPN.

According to MAIA, most projects were implemented in the north of the country, where 280 businesses were supported, followed by the central region, with 203 projects, and the south of the country, with 98 projects. Additionally, the grant component related to the loans granted amounted to 54.5 million lei.

MAIA mentions that the majority of funding was directed towards the purchase of equipment for conventional and conservative agriculture, machinery for post-harvest processing, and to cover circulating capital needs.

The institution specifies that for the continuation of project funding in 2026, there are still 163 million lei available for loans and almost 29.5 million lei for the grant component. At the same time, MAIA mentions that the program offers financing in Moldovan lei, with a fixed interest rate of 5.1% annually, through partner financial institutions.



Meteorologists have issued a yellow heatwave warning for this weekend. In most parts of the country, the maximum temperatures will reach +34 degrees Celsius, reports IPN.

The warning is valid for the center, south, and east of the country. Several districts in the north are also under the yellow code. The northernmost districts of the country such as Briceni, Ocnita, Edinet, Drochia, Soroca, Glodeni, Rascani, and Donduseni – are not affected by the warning.

According to the Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, the warning can be updated depending on the evolution of weather phenomena.

During periods of heatwave, authorities recommend people to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours, to consume enough fluids, and to pay increased attention to children, the elderly, and people with chronic conditions.
