On 31 August 1989 Street in the center of the capital, the rehabilitation works continue. At this stage, the workers are installing the storm sewer and strengthening the foundation of the cobblestone, reports IPN.

According to the Chisinau City Hall, the works are being carried out on the section between Mitropolit Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni and Alexandr Pushkin streets. The workers are installing the pipes for the drainage of rainwater and, in parallel, they are pouring the foundation for gabions – metal baskets filled with stone, which will stabilize the ground and protect the historic pavement.

The municipality specifies that the works are part of the project for the valorization and conservation of the historical heritage in the center of Chisinau. At the same time, the rehabilitation projects for the square on 68 Bucharest Street, as well as the infrastructure on Veronica Micle Street, continue.

The warning is valid for the center, south, and east of the country. Several districts in the north are also under the yellow code. The northernmost districts of the country such as Briceni, Ocnita, Edinet, Drochia, Soroca, Glodeni, Rascani, and Donduseni – are not affected by the warning.

According to the Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, the warning can be updated depending on the evolution of weather phenomena.
