Citizens and the business environment will have easier access to electronic communication services. All new buildings and those undergoing major renovations will be mandatorily equipped with the necessary infrastructure for the installation of optical fiber networks. A project in this regard was approved on Wednesday, during the cabinet of ministers meeting, reports IPN.
The project envisages facilitating the expansion of public electronic communications networks, including those of very high capacity. The authorities argue that the measures will contribute to the modernization of digital infrastructure and the improvement of service quality. The document provides for simplifying the access of electronic communications providers to public and private properties, under clear conditions. Thus, the installation work of the networks can start faster, and bureaucratic procedures will be reduced.
At the same time, the project introduces clear terms for the issuance of permits and the examination of access requests. A single digital information point will also be created for consulting information about the existing infrastructure and planned works. The necessary applications can be submitted online.
The new law encourages the shared use of existing infrastructure, such as poles and pipes. According to the authorities, this measure will reduce the costs of network development, the duration of the works, and the impact on the environment.
