The Republic of Moldova and Switzerland are strengthening their cooperation in the field of labor for the period 2026-2029. The Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Natalia Plugaru, signed in Geneva, together with Swiss partners, the Roadmap for cooperation in the field of labor and employment, reports IPN.

According to the Ministry of Labor, the document marks a new stage in the collaboration between the Republic of Moldova and Switzerland and establishes priority action directions in areas such as social dialogue, promotion of decent work, development of professional skills, combating undeclared work, and adapting the labor market to economic and technological changes.

The institution further specifies that the partnership will allow the valorization of Swiss experience and expertise in the development of more efficient policies for both employees and employers.

The authorities maintain that the implementation of the roadmap will contribute to the modernization of the labor market in the Republic of Moldova, to the increase of its competitiveness, and to the alignment with European standards in the field of employment.



Meteorologists have issued a yellow heatwave warning for this weekend. In most parts of the country, the maximum temperatures will reach +34 degrees Celsius, reports IPN.

The warning is valid for the center, south, and east of the country. Several districts in the north are also under the yellow code. The northernmost districts of the country such as Briceni, Ocnita, Edinet, Drochia, Soroca, Glodeni, Rascani, and Donduseni – are not affected by the warning.

According to the Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, the warning can be updated depending on the evolution of weather phenomena.

During periods of heatwave, authorities recommend people to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours, to consume enough fluids, and to pay increased attention to children, the elderly, and people with chronic conditions.
