Maia Sandu had a meeting with King Charles III, as part of the working visit that the President of Moldova is making to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The audience took place at the Sandringham residence, reports IPN.
According to the statement provided by the head of state subsequently, the discussions focused on the United Kingdom’s support for the democratic path of the Republic of Moldova.
“The support of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland gives us the confidence to move forward decisively on the path of democracy. I thank His Majesty, King Charles III, for his warm welcome at his Sandringham residence”, said the head of state.
The Presidency states in a press release that Maia Sandu’s visit to the United Kingdom aims to strengthen the Moldovan-British partnership in key areas such as economic development, rule of law, combating corruption and national security.
The United Kingdom is considered a strategic partner of the Republic of Moldova, providing support in the process of European integration and in strengthening the state’s resilience in the face of external challenges.
