The GreenFields Academy Moldova – an educational initiative dedicated to the farmers of the Republic of Moldova – was launched in Chisinau, with the aim of supporting the adaptation of agriculture to climate change and promoting sustainable practices, reports IPN.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Sergiu Gherciu, emphasized the importance of this initiative for both the agri-food sector and the financial one, in the context where the effects of climate change are increasingly felt.
“We have limited tools to ensure full stability, therefore the involvement of all actors – farmers, financial institutions and development partners – is essential. This initiative, which combines investment with professional training, is welcome,” declared Sergiu Gherciu at the opening of the event.
The GreenFields Academy Moldova will offer, over a period of nine months, structured trainings in six modules and two thematic visits to farms, intended for a group of over 30 farmers.
The program follows the successful model implemented in Romania, based on practical training and the principles of sustainable agriculture.
