The Moldovan junior national team won four bronze medals at the international table tennis tournament “World Table Tennis” (WTT Youth Contender), held in Bulgaria, reports IPN.
In the U-11 category, Matvei Vranesco fell in the semifinals, after achieving four victories throughout the competition, while in the U-13, Nicolae Bucur took first place in the group, however, after two victories in the elimination phase, against athletes from Bulgaria, he was defeated.
In the U-15 category, two medals were won. Maria Cuciuc-Mocrousov advanced from the group with three victories, but conceded in the semifinals against an athlete from Slovakia, with a score of 2-3. Similarly, in the mixed doubles event, the pair Maria Cuciuc-Mocrousov / Nicolae Bucur recorded three victories, but lost in the semifinals to a couple from Bulgaria, with a score of 2-3.
Moldova’s national team was represented at this tournament by 18 athletes, who competed in five age categories.
