An expert mission from the International Monetary Fund will come to Chisinau during the period of May 7-20. The visit takes place in the context of requesting a new program supported by the Policy Coordination Instrument (PCI), reports IPN.
According to the permanent representative of the IMF in the Republic of Moldova, Svetlana Cerović, the experts will analyze recent developments in the economy, will update estimates on macroeconomic prospects and risks, and will discuss policy priorities and reforms.
Also, the experts will discuss with the central authorities and other involved partners. The Policy Coordination Instrument (PCI) does not imply direct funding, but allows a closer dialogue between the FMI and member states, and confirms the commitment to reforms. At the same time, it can support the attraction of funding from other sources.
