The representative of the “Eurasia” organization, which the Information and Security Service is asking the court to declare extremist, has filed a request for the recusal of the entire panel of judges. The request was made on Friday, during the meeting at the Central Court of Appeal, reports IPN.

The examination of the recusal request will take place next week, after the case will be registered in the Integrated Case Management Program and will be assigned to another panel of judges.

At the initiation of the trial, SIS did not provide details, but “Eurasia” is targeted in a report of the institution about external interference in the 2024 electoral processes. The document indicates that foreign influence on the Republic of Moldova was exerted through “platforms, influence agents and typical tools of hybrid interference”, among which are the “Eurasia” entity, the “Victory” bloc and the organized criminal group “Shor”, supported by persons under international sanctions and in search.

If the court approves the SIS request, “Eurasia” will become the first organization based in the Russian Federation to be declared extremist in the Republic of Moldova, which will entail the prohibition of any activities on the country’s territory and the blocking of its accounts and resources.
