EU support for Transnistrian regulation, reconfirmed in Brussels

The commitment to continue cooperation in support of efforts to regulate the Transnistrian conflict, while respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova, was reconfirmed in Brussels. The subject was discussed during a meeting between the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, and the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Valeriu Chiveri, reports IPN.

Officials discussed the developments in the regulation process of the Transnistrian conflict and the reintegration policies promoted by the authorities in Chisinau. Also, the cooperation between Moldova and the European Union was discussed, in the context of the EU accession process.

Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Chiveri presented the main measures of Chisinau to solve the problems faced by residents on both banks of the Dniester. These aim to eliminate barriers in the eastern districts and restore the unique national space in areas such as economy, education, energy, and taxation.

The official thanked the EU for its support, including in the energy sector, emphasizing that this assistance contributes to maintaining stability, meeting the energy needs of the population, and to the modernization and sustainable development of the country.



Meteorologists have issued a yellow heatwave warning for this weekend. In most parts of the country, the maximum temperatures will reach +34 degrees Celsius, reports IPN.

The warning is valid for the center, south, and east of the country. Several districts in the north are also under the yellow code. The northernmost districts of the country such as Briceni, Ocnita, Edinet, Drochia, Soroca, Glodeni, Rascani, and Donduseni – are not affected by the warning.

According to the Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, the warning can be updated depending on the evolution of weather phenomena.

During periods of heatwave, authorities recommend people to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours, to consume enough fluids, and to pay increased attention to children, the elderly, and people with chronic conditions.
