The Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, emphasizes the need to maintain a sustained pace of reforms, noting that European integration involves the entire responsibility of both state institutions and society, reports IPN.
The statements were made within the panel “The process of the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union”, organized on the sidelines of the ambassadors’ meeting held in Chisinau. Cristina Gherasimov emphasized that European integration is no longer just a foreign policy objective, but a fundamental domestic policy one.
“Our goal is not only to be prepared, but also persuasive for our European partners, in order to progress towards the signing of the Accession Treaty in 2028 and accession in 2030”, declared Cristina Gherasimov.
Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the strategic role of diplomacy and the commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen dialogue with the European Union for the advancement of the country’s European path.
“We will make every effort to become members of the great European family as soon as possible”, declared Mihai Popsoi.
The meeting of the heads of diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Moldova is taking place in Chisinau on December 22-23.
