The code yellow frost warning will be extended until Sunday. Precipitation in the form of rain, sleet or snow is expected during the week, with wind strengthening. Temperatures will start to rise from next week.
According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, during the next three days, during the night and morning hours, frosts will be recorded with intensities between -1 and -5 degrees Celsius.
Tomorrow, cloudy skies are expected throughout the country. At night, light precipitation in the form of sleet and snow will fall in limited areas. During the day precipitation will continue over large areas.
Ghenadii Rosca, the head of the Weather Forecast Department, told IPN that the danger of frost is higher on April 10 and 11.
„Next week temperatures will be positive. By April 16, maximum temperatures will register between 15-20 degrees Celsius”, Ghenadii Rosca added.
The head of the Weather Forecasting Directorate explained that it is natural to have frosts at this time of the year, adding that this phenomenon is common in Moldova.
The last snowfall in April on the territory of the Republic of Moldova was in 2023.
