The volume of securities issued registered on the capital market in the Republic of Moldova increased by about 72% in the first half of the year, reaching almost 734 million lei. According to the National Financial Market Commission, the increase was mainly supported by corporate bonds, whose volume practically doubled compared to the same period in 2025, reports IPN.
During the period of January-June 2026, 17 issues of securities were registered, compared to 28 in the same period of the previous year. Although their number has decreased by over 39%, the average value of an issue has increased 2.8 times, from 15.25 million to 43.16 million lei. Most of the funding was attracted through corporate bonds. The four bond issues registered in the first semester amounted to over 600 million lei and represented almost 82% of the total volume.
At the same time, 13 share issues were recorded, with a total value of over 133 million lei. Four of these, worth nearly 32 million lei, were aimed at establishing joint-stock companies, including contributions to the establishment of the International Stock Exchange of Moldova. Another nine issues, amounting to about 102 million lei, represented capital increases.
On the other hand, activity on the secondary market has seen a decline. The value of securities transactions amounted to approximately 756 million lei, about 7% less than in the first half of 2025.
CNPF specifies that the development of the capital market will continue within the Strategy for the period 2026-2030, which provides, among other things, the diversification of financial instruments and the investor base, improving companies’ access to financing and the development of market infrastructure.
