Starting from today, documents can be submitted for the registration of candidates for the position of deputy in the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia. The files are received by the first level electoral councils in Comrat, Ceadar-Lunga, and Vulcanesti, reports IPN.
According to the Central Electoral Commission, candidates designated by political parties must personally present the registration application and the decision regarding the designation. The file must also contain biographical data, the consent statement to run, the wealth and personal interests statement for the last year before the elections, as well as other documents provided by electoral legislation. Also, a copy of the candidate’s identity document is required.
Independent candidates must additionally present subscription lists with the necessary number of supporters’ signatures, compiled under the conditions established by electoral legislation. When submitting the documents, the candidate must confirm the personal presentation of the file by completing and signing an attendance list.
The electoral district councils have seven days to decide on the registration or refusal of the candidate’s registration. Documents can be submitted until October 6.
The elections for the People’s Assembly will take place on November 15, on the same day as the elections for the position of the Governor of Gagauzia.
