China’s Ministry of Finance has announced additional tariffs of 84% on all products imported from the United States. The duties will go into effect on Thursday, April 10, starting at 12:01 am US local time, IPN reports.
The additional tariffs from Beijing come as the 104% US tariffs on China’s imports from the US went into effect today.
At the same time, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce added 12 US entities to the export control list and six US entities to the “unsafe entities” list, Reuters reports.
Shortly afterward, US President Donald Trump came out with a reaction on social media: ‘it’s a great time to move your company to the US, as Apple and many others are doing in record numbers’.
